SIMULATIONS IN LUNGS MODELS
Movies of air circulation simulations through lung models can be downloaded by clicking on images. Movies are compressed with MPEG.
Simulations in a two generations symmetric tree, with a sinusoidal model of respiration (5 seconds period). Inlet Reynolds number is 1200.
Simulations in the first three generations of Hiroko Kitaoka's lung model, with a realistic model of respiration (2 seconds inspiration and 3 seconds expiration). Respiratory regime is considered at rest.

Research of the optimal shape of a bifurcation crossed by Stokes flow (in collaboration with Y. Privat)
The optimal shape minimizes the dissipated energy and has a volume constrained. We use shape derivatives along with Uzawa algorithm implemented in Comsol Multiphysics.
A movie that represents the different steps of the algorithm is available when clicking on the images (13 Mo & 3 Mo).
